Freeport West goes big in South Jordan

Hollye Shepherd

Freeport West, one of Utah’s largest warehouse developers, has recently completed construction of its second building of its planned 1.3 million square foot industrial commerce park.  It’s projected to include10 buildings with the goal of attracting tenants from 30,000 to around 200,000 square feet. The building footprints gives them the flexibility to attract users wanting to expand or demise down to a smaller square footage.  The buildings are located near a labor base in the Daybreak Community in the city of South Jordan.

This area has become a hot spot for warehouse activity given the newly completed Mountain View Corridor which provides a pipeline to the northwest quadrant. Drive time to Salt Lake International airport is 25 minutes and it’s a direct link to the main I-15 highway corridor.  With the nearby highway and amenities it’s no wonder this area has attracted warehousing giants like Amazon, Ebay, Maersk, and Boeing.

South Jordan City is excited for the new industrial park.  The city’s efficient approval process for permits has enabled Freeport West to allow for more timely tenant occupancy. Freeport West is one of Utah’s premiere warehouse development and management companies with the goal of building high quality buildings for a long-term hold.  They specialize in office, warehouse and industrial space with ownership of approximately 15 million square feet in Utah, Arizona, California, and Nevada.
